I’d initially said my last Bridesmaids book would be up in September and my cowboy book would be up in October, but because of a delay, I’m reversing the order. I just loaded At the Cowboy’s Mercy onto Kindle this morning. Should be ready to go by the weekend!
Now, to get to work on my firefighter. Ahem.
I got my covers for my next two books. The last Bridesmaids in Paradise book, Her Moonlit Gamble, will be out in September, and At the Cowboy’s Mercy will be out in October.

My heroine is a woman who’s just lost 30 pounds and is trying out her new body. She sets her sights on the groom’s brother, who she’s had a crush on for awhile, but he was in a long-term relationship. Now he’s not. They spend the week before the wedding exploring Hawaii–and each other.
I worry that some don’t convey that it’s erotic romance. What do you think?

I absolutely loved Megan. I thought she was the perfect blend of tough and vulnerable, with a backstory that was intriguing and heartbreaking.
Adam was sexy as hell, a generous hero who isn’t all he seems. I loved how he was with Megan, who knew what she wanted but wasn’t always certain about how to get it. He’s so gentle and patient with her.
And the sex is smoking hot–adventurous and plenitful! A terrific debut by Mia Downing!
I’m so excited about this book–I was rereading it this weekend to pull quotes and excerpts and it was just so much fun to watch Bad Boy Zach tumble hard for his best friend’s sister Paige. And you know, since his best friend knows everything about Zach, Paige is OFF LIMITS!
This is the first time I’ve ever had anyone preorder a book , so super extra exciting.

“How old were you when you lost your virginity?”
The corner of his mouth lifted. “Sixteen, but I knew what I was doing.
” She rolled her eyes. “You do now, but I doubt you did then.”
“I did. I could give you references.” He winked, and delight raced through
her at the lighthearted gesture.
“No thank you.” She sat back and folded her hands primly on the table in
front of her. “And I’d appreciate you not giving out my name as a reference in the future.”
He chuckled, the low sound sending a thrill through her. “I’d be too afraid of what you’d say about me.”
She angled her head, determined to keep the mood playful. “Which would hurt worse, a comment about size or endurance?”
The waiter, who’d chosen that moment to reach for her water glass, lifted his eyebrows, filled the glass and moved on.
“Why are we talking about sex?” he asked. “Are you trying to make me crazy?”
“That has long been my favorite pastime.”
“Sex? Or making me crazy?”
She let her lips curve in a mysterious smile. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
He lifted her hand from the table and rubbed his thumb over her knuckles.
“What are we doing here?”
“We’re on a date.”
“Why?”
“Because I figured since I already put out, you could buy me dinner.”
The waiter, passing by, almost tripped over his own shoelaces.
“So we’re doing this backwards.” He placed her hand on the table and rubbed his palms on the arms of the chair as if he had to touch something.
“Roundabout, maybe. I don’t usually move in a straight line.” She held her hand out expectantly, and he put his in hers. She turned it over, palm up, and traced a circle on his palm, then a figure eight, and watched his nostrils flare as he followed her movement. “I don’t want any dessert.”
The words were barely out of her mouth before his free hand shot into the air, signaling for the check.
My new work-in-progress is set in Hawaii. I’ve never been, so I’ve been doing a lot of online research. And I’m finding some COOL stuff to do there. Problem is, my heroine would NEVER swim with sharks or hike up to see the volcanoes. She’s not a chicken by any means, but she is a city girl through and through. I did manage to get her on a surfboard.
I would love to go and research this first-hand, but the thought of being in a plane over water for so long kind of terrifies me. Because, see, I AM a chicken.
